While enrolled in Cobra you are able to drop plans for yourself or your dependents at any point during your 18 month cobra period. You are not able to change the plans you have through the insurance as Cobra is an exact continuation of the plans you had while employed but you can change what plan you want to be covered I.E. medical dental vision for you and your dependents. Most employers do not allow you to cancel coverage in the middle of the month to get a prorated refund.
To complete this process, you will need to email cobra@rmrbenefits.com to inform them of the change. In the email please include the following:
- Your first and last name
- Your COBRA Member ID (if you do not have or do not know your member ID you may include the last 4 digits of your SSN)
- Who you would like to drop coverage for*
- What plan you would like to drop*
- The date you would like the change effective

Our COBRA administrators will communicate with you further about this change once they have received your request.
*Please note that once you drop someone off a plan or you drop a plan completely you CANNOT add this plan back to your COBRA coverage until open enrollment.
